RH - A Nightmare on Elm Street opening (Wes Craven, 1984)

In this film opening the setting is cast in our final girls imagination. The initial opening is disguised as reality included in a dream. Although we can't many ideas from this opening, what we can learn from is key slasher conventions.

Later in the opening when both girls and the boy are in the house 'trapped', they are drawn outside by a sound. In our production the girl gets out of the car after a crash, she is then taken, we aim to produce a sound effect to entice her out of the car. Also in this opening we can observe the character 'Freddy Krueger'His character has it's own very specific style (knives for fingers), doesn't just use a knife, its original.Originality is something we want to signify when producing our film and we can learn from his character on ways to do that.
